The weather permitting it is always a good idea to consider an outdoor party over a celebration indoors.

And I dare add that it is often worth the trouble of dealing with the unpredictable weather where even weather forecasts can be wrong half the time. So whether it is a kids birthday party or some corporate picnic start by ensuring that you have taken enough precautions. Do not even think of picking a location unless it has plenty of shelter for taking cover incase the weather goes all wrong. And it is not only rain that people need to take shelter from. Hot weather can also cause chaos. Thus apart from the shelter it is a good idea to have plenty of cold drinking water to go round, as well as hot beverages (if the sun suddenly disappears and cold rain sets in) like coffee for the grown ups and something else for the youngsters.

It is also a good idea to prepare for heavy wind. So carry plenty of tape to tape down stuff like the table cloths and so on.

Do not forget to brief your entertainers appropriately so that they are prepared for an outdoor event and are also fully equipped for any sudden changes in the weather.

Since you are having your fun event outdoors you will need to think through carefully about your source of electricity. And even more important do make sure that it is al set up properly so that your guests will not be tripping over extension chords which can be pretty dangerous when your guests are very young. Also make sure that you have enough power. Most of the stuff that requires to be powered for entertainment is pretty heavy and uses lots of electricity and so if you do not have enough then chances are that fuses will blow and ultimately shut down your power.
